K9, the ChatNet robot dog

CService Team

A CService member is not the same as an IRC operator. IRC operators look after the servers: they make sure they are routed correctly, that abusive users are removed from the network, and they help users with everything that is not about the channel services. A CService member looks after K9 and helps users with problems and questions about it. A member may or may not also be an IRC operator. The admins and operators of each server are on the Servers page.

To reach the Channel Service team: cservices@chatnet.gg, or the team in #doghouse.

Is this person really Channel Service?

Never give your password to anybody who says they are on the team. To check, type:

/msg K9 ACCESS #doghouse nickname

A real CService member shows HELPER or CSERVICE as their access level. You can also ask ChatWorld with /msg ChatWorld opers, which lists who is currently online as an IRC operator, Routing or CService, and do a /whois on that person. If someone claims to be staff and shows up in none of these, tell the IRC operators in #chatnet right away.

Design inspired by ChatNet's original CService site — this is a modern reconstruction, not a 1:1 copy.
